◆ 中学柔道部が抱える“今”の課題

[The Current Challenges Facing Junior High School Judo Clubs]

近年、部活動の地域移行や顧問の負担増などにより、柔道部の存続が危ぶまれる中学校が増えています。
In recent years, many junior high school judo clubs have faced the risk of closure due to the shift of club activities to local communities and increasing burdens on school teachers.

今回私がサポートすることになった中学校も、例外ではありません。
The junior high school I’ve started supporting is no exception.

この学校は、これまで県大会で上位入賞を果たす実力校。しかし、今年から顧問となった先生は柔道未経験者。
This school has achieved top rankings in the prefectural tournament, but the newly assigned coach this year has no experience in judo.

才能ある生徒たちが在籍しているにも関わらず、専門的な指導が受けられないという、非常に惜しい状況でした。
Despite having talented students, they were in a regrettable situation where they couldn’t receive professional instruction.

◆ “中学生の自分”と重ねた気持ち

[Reflecting on My Own Junior High School Experience]

実は私自身も、中学校に柔道部がなかったため、町道場で週3回稽古を続けていました。
I, too, didn’t have a judo club in my junior high school, so I practiced three times a week at a local dojo.

その頃の私は、技術的にも体格的にも大きく伸びる時期。しかし、専門的な指導を受ける環境がありませんでした。
That was a time when I was rapidly developing both technically and physically, but I had no access to professional instruction.

高校に進学してからは本格的に柔道に取り組むことができましたが、
It wasn’t until I entered high school that I could train seriously in judo.

「もし中学生の時に、専門の先生から技を学べていたら…」
“If only I had received guidance from a skilled coach when I was in junior high…”

そんな思いが、ずっと心の奥に残っています。
That feeling has stayed with me ever since.

◆ 宝の原石たちと向き合う決意

[A Commitment to Nurturing Hidden Gems]

今回、まさにその「原石」が目の前にいます。
Now, those “hidden gems” are right in front of me.

そして、その原石を磨く手助けができるチャンスが今あるのなら、自分がやるしかない――。
And if I have the chance to help polish those gems, I feel it’s my responsibility to do so.

そんな想いから、毎週水曜日、週1回の指導をスタートすることを決意しました。
That’s why I’ve decided to provide instruction once a week, every Wednesday.

昨日がその初日。素直で前向きな生徒たちと接し、私自身も大きな学びと刺激を受けました。
Yesterday was our first session. Interacting with the honest and eager students gave me both inspiration and valuable lessons.

◆ 柔道の魅力を一人ひとりに伝えたい

[Sharing the Beauty of Judo with Every Student]

この取り組みの目標は、「選手を強くする」ことだけではありません。
My goal is not just to make the students stronger competitors.

柔道を好きになり、続けてくれる生徒が一人でも増えること。
I want each student to come to love judo and continue it, even if it’s just one more child.

それが何よりの願いです。
That is my greatest hope.

部活動が続く限り、私も責任を持ってサポートを続けていきます。
As long as the club continues, I will continue to support it with dedication.

そして、柔道の魅力と意義を、生徒たちにしっかりと伝えていきたいと思います。
I hope to firmly convey the value and appeal of judo to each of them.
