横浜土曜柔道会は、2025年より地域クラブ団体として正式に登録されました。
Yokohama Saturday Judo club has officially registered as a community-based judo club starting in 2025.
これにより、神奈川県中学校体育連盟が主催する柔道大会への参加が可能となり、クラブとしての活動の幅がさらに広がりました。
This registration allows us to participate in judo tournaments hosted by the Kanagawa Junior High School Athletic Federation, further expanding our club’s activities.
その第一歩となるのが、3月27日（木）に開催された「第一回 神奈川県学年別柔道大会」。
Our first step was the 1st Kanagawa Grade-Based Judo Tournament, held on Thursday, March 27.

この大会は、中学から柔道を始めた生徒たちが、学年別・体重別で戦う個人戦です。
This tournament is designed for students who began practicing judo in junior high school, competing individually by grade and weight class.
特徴的なのは予選リーグ制が導入されており1試合で終わらず複数回の試合経験が積める点。
A unique feature of this tournament is its preliminary round-robin format, which allows participants to gain experience through multiple matches.
初心者の生徒にとって、非常にありがたい機会です。
This is a valuable opportunity, especially for beginners.
今回、我が道場からは中学2年生男子重量級の部に、1名が初出場。
This time, we had one student compete in the boys' heavyweight division for second-year junior high school students.
彼は中学生になってから柔道を始め、「心も体も強くなりたい」と自ら門を叩き、週に一度、コツコツと稽古を重ねてきました。
He started judo after entering junior high, hoping to grow stronger in both body and mind. Since then, he has diligently joined our weekly practices to improve step by step.
試合では、1勝1敗。惜しくも決勝トーナメントには進めませんでしたが、
その一勝の価値は、本人にとっても、私たち指導者にとっても、何よりの喜びでした。
In the matches, he achieved one win and one loss. Although he didn’t advance to the finals,
that single victory was a source of great pride and joy for both him and us as his instructors.
道場では、日を追うごとに技の精度や組み手の力強さが増しており、今後の成長が本当に楽しみです。
At the dojo, his technique and grip strength have visibly improved day by day. We’re truly looking forward to his continued development.
そしていよいよ、4月からは中学3年生。
地域クラブとして、中体連主催の公式大会に初めて挑戦することになります。
Come April, he will be a third-year student and will compete in an official junior high school federation tournamentfor the first time as part of our community club.
指導する側の私たちも、初めてのチャレンジ。少しの緊張と、たくさんの期待を胸に、次の一歩を踏み出します。
This is a new challenge for us as instructors as well. With a bit of nervousness but great anticipation, we step into this new phase together.
もちろん、勝ち負けも大切ですが、それ以上に大切なのは「精力善用・自他共栄」の精神を、稽古を通して学び、試合で体現していくこと。
Of course, winning and losing matters, but what’s even more important is embodying the spirit of “Seiryoku-Zenyo” (Maximum Efficient Use of Energy) and “Jita-Kyoei” (Mutual Welfare and Benefit)—values learned through daily practice and demonstrated in competition.
柔道人口が大きく減少する中で、我々のような地域クラブが、次世代育成の場としての役割を担うことが求められています。
With the number of judo practitioners declining, community clubs like ours must take on the important role of nurturing the next generation.
柔道を通じて、人として成長し、社会へと羽ばたいていく—そんな若者を、これからも丁寧に育てていきたいと思います。
Through judo, we aim to foster personal growth and strong character in young people who will go on to contribute to society.
We will continue to support and nurture them with care and commitment.
