 横浜土曜柔道会は、近年、海外の柔道家たちが日本を訪れる“出稽古の場”として、少しずつ認知されはじめています。 In recent years, the Yokohama Saturday Judo Association has gradually gained recognition as a place where overseas judoka come to Japan for training. 「火曜日の練習にも参加したい」という問い合わせが、海外から直接届くようになったのは最近のこと。私が師範を務める火曜クラスも、徐々に国際色が増してきました。 Recently, I’ve started receiving direct inquiries from abroad asking to join our Tuesday sessions as well. My Tuesday class, where I serve as instructor, is becoming increasingly international. 昨年度、布田塾にはなんと中国から4人の小学生がやってきました。 Last year, four elementary school students from China visited our dojo, Fuda Juku. 北京市と成都市（四川省）からは8歳と10歳の女の子。連雲港市（江蘇省）からは11歳と9歳の男の兄弟。いずれも柔道衣をスーツケースに詰め、日本へと渡ってきた小さな柔道家たちです。 From Beijing and Chengdu (Sichuan), came two girls aged 8 and 10. From Lianyungang (Jiangsu), two brothers aged 11 and 9.   2025年度の布田塾は、「1,000本打ち込み」からスタートしました。 The 2025 season at Nunoda Judo Labo kicked off with “1,000 repetitions” drill. 「果たしてまた、みんな来てくれるだろうか…？」そんな不安もありました。 Honestly, I wondered, “Will everyone come back again this year?” でも、その不安はすぐに嬉しさへと変わりました。 But that worry quickly turned into joy. 元気な顔を見せてくれた子どもたち、そして社会人の皆さん。 The kids and adults alike showed up with their usual bright smiles. 変わらず道場に足を運んでくれる姿に、胸が熱くなりました。 Seeing them return to the dojo warmed my heart deeply. 反復から始まる、“自分の柔道” From Repetition Comes “Your Own Judo” 布田塾では昨年から「基本の徹底」をテーマにしてきました。 Since last year, Nunoda Judo Labo has focused on mastering the basics. 繰り返し、繰り返し、同じ技を反復する。 Over and over, we repeat the same technique. 派手さはない。でも、確かな力になると信じています。 It’s not flashy—but I believe it builds true strength. 今年からは火曜日の反復稽古を「一技」に絞って徹底します。 Starting this year, we dedicate Tuesday’s practice to a single technique. 「この技は自分のものだ」と言えるまで、やり続ける。 We repeat it until each student can say, “This technique is mine.” そこに、一本の道が生まれていきます。 That is how one’s ...

  「 やり切った…！」   "I did it…!" 稽古が終わった瞬間、小さな拳をぎゅっと握りしめた小学生。汗に濡れた道衣が、彼の挑戦の証でした。 At the end of practice, a young boy clenched his small fist in triumph. His sweat-soaked judogi was proof of his challenge. 昨年4月、私は神奈川県立武道館・一般稽古の 師範 を拝命しました。 以来、毎週火曜日の夜は“布田塾”として、技の基本にこだわる稽古を続けています。 In April of last year, I was appointed  head instructor  for the general practice sessions at the Kanagawa Prefectural Martial Arts Hall.   「柔道を、もう一度学び直したい」 そんな気持ちが芽生えたのは、ある日の稽古終わりの帰り道でした。 技術だけでなく、人としての在り方まで問われる柔道。 30年以上関わってきたこの道を、さらに深めたいという思いが、静かに、しかし確かに心に灯ったのです。 “I want to relearn judo from the beginning.” That thought quietly emerged on my way home after a regular training session. Judo demands more than technical skill—it asks who you are as a person. Having walked this path for over 30 years, I felt a deep desire to revisit and deepen my understanding of the art. 横浜土曜柔道会は、2025年より 地域クラブ団体 として正式に登録されました。 Yokohama Saturday Judo club has officially registered as a  community-based judo club  starting in 2025. これにより、神奈川県中学校体育連盟が主催する柔道大会への参加が可能となり、クラブとしての活動の幅がさらに広がりました。 This registration allows us to participate in judo tournaments hosted by the Kanagawa Junior High School Athletic Federation, further expanding our club’s activities. その第一歩となるのが、3月27日（木）に開催された 「第一回 神奈川県学年別柔道大会」 。 Our first step was the  1st Kanagawa Grade-Based Judo Tournament , held on Thursday, March 27. 開会式の様子 この大会は、中学から柔道を始めた生徒たちが、 学年別・体重別 で戦う個人戦です。 This tournament is designed for students who began practicing judo in junior high school, competing individually by  grade and weight class . 特徴的なのは 予選リーグ制 が導入されており1試合で終わらず 複数回の試合経験が積める 点。 A unique feature of this tournament is its  preliminary round-robin format , which allows participants to gain experience through  multiple matches . 初心者の生徒にとって、非常にありがたい機会です。 This is a valuable opportunity, especially for...

3月22日、横浜武道館が熱気に包まれた。「第3回柔道マガジン杯全国中学生柔道大会」が開催され、全国から男子99チーム、女子64チームが集い、日本一を目指して熱戦を繰り広げた。 On March 22, the Yokohama Budokan was filled with excitement as the 3rd Judo Magazine Cup National Junior High School Judo Tournament took place. A total of 99 boys' teams and 64 girls' teams from all over Japan gathered to compete for the national title. この大会の特徴は、学校の部活動チームと個人道場チームが垣根を越えて競い合う点にある。普段の環境を超えた実戦の場は、選手たちにとって大きな成長の機会となる。初日は予選リーグが行われ、各ブロックの勝者が翌日の決勝トーナメントへと駒を進めた。 One of the unique aspects of this tournament is that both school club teams and private dojo teams compete against each other, transcending their usual environments. This provides an excellent opportunity for athletes to grow. 全国高等学校柔道選手権大会―それは、日本の高校柔道界において、夢と誇りを懸けた戦いの場。 The All Japan High School Judo Championship— a battlefield where dreams and pride are on the line in the world of high school judo.  かつて私が高校生だった40年前、この大会は団体戦のみの格式高い大会だった。 Forty years ago, when I was a high school student, this prestigious tournament only featured team competitions. 当時、私は時計係として大会に参加し、全国から集まる精鋭たちの技と気迫に圧倒されたことを今でも鮮明に覚えている。 At that time, I participated as a timekeeper, witnessing firsthand the sheer strength and skill of the top schools from across the nation. 7月6日、私たちの道場に感動的な日が訪れました。 On July 6th, our dojo experienced an inspiring day.  スイスからは4つのクラブチーム、計16名のメンバーが、アメリカからは1名が初参加してくれたのです。 We were joined by four club teams from Switzerland, with a total of 16 members, and one participant from the United States who was joining us for the first time.  先週参加してくれたオーストリアの5名も引き続き来てくれ、合計22名の海外からの柔道愛好家が共に稽古し、汗を流しました。 Additionally, the five members from Austria who participated last week returned, bringing the total number of international judo enthusiasts training with us to 22. この大勢の若手柔道家たちに対抗するために、神奈川大学柔道部や埼玉大学柔道部、そしてそのOBメンバーにも事前に声をかけ、多くの方々が集まってくれました。 To match the energy of these young judo practitioners from abroad, we reached out to the judo teams of Kanagawa University and Saitama University, along with their alumni members, and many joined us for the training.  その結果、元気いっぱいの柔道の稽古ができました。 As a result, we were able to have a vibrant and energetic judo practice session. 2024年度が始まり、早くも4ヶ月が経過しました。 It's been four months since the start of 202...
