  コロナ禍の10人から世界の45人へ ― 柔道が生んだ奇跡の出会い From 10 People During COVID to 45 Judoka from Around the World — The Miracle of Connection Through Judo 6月20日、埼玉で開催された日本マスターズ柔道大会団体戦を終えた私たちは、急いで横浜へ戻った。 After competing in the team event of the Japan Masters Judo Tournament in Saitama on June 20, we hurried back to Yokohama. 疲労も残っていたが、その日の夜にはどうしても会いたい仲間たちが待っていた。 Although we were tired, there were friends waiting for us that evening whom we truly wanted to see. ポーランドから来日した柔道クラブチームとの国際交流である。 It was time for an international exchange with a judo club team visiting from Poland. 2026年6月20日ポーランドクラブチームと合同稽古 彼らとの交流は2023年7月に始まった。 Our relationship with them began in July 2023. 当時、神奈川県立武道館は改修工事中で、私たちは横浜国立大学柔道部と合同稽古を行っていた。 At that time, the Kanagawa Prefectural Budokan was under renovation, and we were training together with the Yokohama National University Judo Team. そんなある日、ポーランドのクラブ代表であるアントニオさんから一通のメールが届いた。 One day, I received an email from Antonio, the leader of a judo club in Po...

  4月から、ジム通いを朝に切り替えました。 Since April, I’ve started going to the gym in the early morning. まだ街が静まり返る時間帯に、ウエイトを持ち上げる音だけが響く空間。そんな朝のジムが、今では心地よいルーティンになっています。 In the quiet hours before the city wakes up, the only sound is the clinking of weights. That peaceful morning atmosphere has become a comfortable routine for me. トレーニングを始めたのは学生の頃。専門の先生にご指導いただきながら、基礎からしっかりと身につけてきました。 I started weight training as a student, under the guidance of a professional coach, learning the fundamentals thoroughly. 以来、トレーニングは人生の習慣のひとつとなり、社会人になってからも、どんなに忙しくても週に一度はジムへ足を運ぶようにしてきました。 Training became a part of my life, and even as a working adult, I made sure to hit the gym at least once a week, no matter how busy I was. 仕事の関係で、上海、天津、大阪と単身赴任を経験しましたが、早朝や夜など、時間を見つけては身体を動かすことを欠かしませんでした。 During my work assignments in Shanghai, Tianjin, and Osaka, I always found time—early mornings or late at night—to stay active. どんな土地でも、自分の軸となる習慣があることで、心が整い、前向きに過ごすことができたのだと思います。 Having that anchor of routine, no matter where I was, helpe...

令和6年度 東京・関東地区対抗選抜柔道大会 Reiwa 6 Tokyo and Kanto District Competition Selection Judo Tournament この大会は、東京地区と関東地区の高段者（六段以上）が一堂に会し、学校、実業団、個人道場、各種柔道クラブなど、それぞれの場で指導に携わる者達が覇を競い合う伝統ある団体戦です。 The Tokyo vs. Kanto Judo Tournament is a prestigious team competition where high-ranking judoka—sixth dan and above—representing schools, corporate teams, private dojos, and various judo clubs gather to test their skills. 東京・関東の両地区から、それぞれ選抜された38名が熱戦を繰り広げました。 Each year, 38 judoka from Tokyo and 38 from Kanto are selected to compete in this traditional event. 今年は 3月23日（日）、講道館5階女子部道場 にて開催。 This year, the tournament took place on Sunday, March 23, at the 5th-floor Women’s Dojo in the KODOKAN. 結果は 関東21勝、東京10勝、7引き分け で関東が勝利を収めました。 The results: Kanto secured victory with 21 wins, Tokyo had 10 wins, and 7 matches ended in a draw . 神奈川県選抜チーム 横浜土曜柔道会の仲間たちの活躍 T he Success of Our Yokohama Saturday Judo Club Members 横浜土曜柔道会でともに技を磨く仲間からは、関東5名、東京3名の計8名が選抜 されました。 Among the competitors, 8 judoka from our Yokoh...

浅草の三社祭・親友との再会　 Asakusa's Sanja Matsuri and Reuniting with an Old Friend

十数年ぶりに、浅草の三社祭に行って来ました。 After more than a decade, I returned to Asakusa's Sanja Matsuri. 高校生の頃、浅草出身の同級生から「浅草の街は三社祭のために一年を過ごすんだよ！」と教えられ、一度だけ一緒にこの祭りを観に行きました。 When I was in high school, a classmate from Asakusa once told me, "The town lives the whole year for Sanja Matsuri!" We went to see the festival together just once. 浅草の街は、その期間中、カラフルな人々や地方から集まる担ぎ屋たちで溢れかえります。 During the festival, Asakusa is overflowing with colorful people and bearers from all over the country.  まるで祭りのためなら何をやってもOKと言わんばかりの不思議な雰囲気に包まれるのです。 The town is enveloped in an atmosphere that feels as if anything is permissible for the sake of the festival. 来年還暦を迎える歳になり、私はふとそんな独特な空気を再び感じたくなり、足を運びたいと思った瞬間に親友に声をかけました。 As I approach my sixtieth year, I felt a sudden urge to experience that unique atmosphere once more, so I reached out to my old friend. 親友。やはりかけがえのないものなのですね。 Old friends are truly irreplaceable.  気持ちが通じあうからこそ、声をかけると即答で「OK」と返事が返ってきました。 Because we understand each other so well, he immediately replied "...
