Hello everyone!
私が担当することになった火曜柔道教室。
I'm excited to share about the Tuesday Judo class that I have the privilege of leading.
4月末から始まったこの教室は毎週火曜日の夜、神奈川県立武道館で行っています。
This class, which started at the end of April, is held every Tuesday evening at the Kanagawa Prefectural Budokan.
現役のサラリーマンである私は、多くの方々のご協力を得て、平日の18時半から柔道を指導することになりました。
As a full-time office worker, I am fortunate to receive a lot of support, allowing me to teach judo on weekday evenings from 6:30 PM.
この教室は、18時半から一般の部として中学生以上の皆さんを対象にしています。
The class is aimed at people from junior high school age and up, starting at 6:30 PM, which is a time that people can just about manage to get to after work.
私としてはこの時間なら仕事帰りにもギリギリ間に合うため、担当を引き受けました。
I took on this responsibility because it fit well with my schedule.
しかし、始めてみると意外な展開が待っていました。
However, an unexpected development occurred once the classes began.
なんと、小中学生の皆さんが多数参加してくれるようになったのです！
To my surprise, a large number of elementary and junior high school students started attending!
土曜日の大人の部に混じって練習している小中学生たちが、「火曜日も練習したい！」と言ってくれることがきっかけでした。
It all began when these young students, who practice alongside adults on Saturdays, expressed their desire to train on Tuesdays as well.
柔道人口の減少は、現在の私たち柔道家にとって大きな課題の一つです。
The decline in the judo population is a significant challenge for us judo practitioners today.
そんな中で縁あって担当することになった火曜柔道教室が、今では小中学生の熱心な参加で盛り上がっているのです。
Amidst this challenge, the Tuesday judo class, which I happened to be in charge of, has now become a vibrant hub of enthusiastic participation from these young students.
私たち柔道家は、柔道人口減少という課題にどう向き合い、解決していくべきかを模索していると思います。
We, as judo practitioners, are constantly seeking ways to address and solve the issue of declining judo participation.
私はこの教室を通じて、小中学生の皆さんに柔道の楽しさを伝え、彼らを正しく導いていくことで、その答えを見つけていけるのではと思い始めました。
Through this class, I have come to believe that by conveying the joy of judo to elementary and junior high school students and guiding them correctly, we can find the solution to this problem.
柔道に対して真剣に取り組む子供たちの姿を見ると、私自身も心が引き締まります。
Seeing the earnest dedication of these young judo enthusiasts strengthens my own resolve.
彼らの純粋な情熱を大切にし、未来の柔道家たちを育てていくことが今の私の使命だと感じています。
Their pure passion is something I cherish, and I feel it is now my mission to nurture the future judo champions.
火曜の夜、神奈川県立武道館で、皆さんと一緒に柔道を楽しめることを心から楽しみにしています。
I eagerly look forward to enjoying judo with all of you on Tuesday nights at the Kanagawa Prefectural Budokan.
