コロナ禍の10人から世界の45人へ ― 柔道が生んだ奇跡の出会い
From 10 People During COVID to 45 Judoka from Around the World — The Miracle of Connection Through Judo
6月20日、埼玉で開催された日本マスターズ柔道大会団体戦を終えた私たちは、急いで横浜へ戻った。
After competing in the team event of the Japan Masters Judo Tournament in Saitama on June 20, we hurried back to Yokohama.
疲労も残っていたが、その日の夜にはどうしても会いたい仲間たちが待っていた。
Although we were tired, there were friends waiting for us that evening whom we truly wanted to see.
ポーランドから来日した柔道クラブチームとの国際交流である。
It was time for an international exchange with a judo club team visiting from Poland.

| 2026年6月20日ポーランドクラブチームと合同稽古 |
彼らとの交流は2023年7月に始まった。
Our relationship with them began in July 2023.
当時、神奈川県立武道館は改修工事中で、私たちは横浜国立大学柔道部と合同稽古を行っていた。
At that time, the Kanagawa Prefectural Budokan was under renovation, and we were training together with the Yokohama National University Judo Team.
そんなある日、ポーランドのクラブ代表であるアントニオさんから一通のメールが届いた。
One day, I received an email from Antonio, the leader of a judo club in Poland.
「クラブメンバーを連れて稽古に参加したい。」
“We would like to visit and train with your club.”
正直驚いた。
To be honest, I was surprised.
私たちは全国的な強豪クラブではない。週末に一度集まり、真剣に柔道を学ぶ地域クラブである。
We are not a nationally famous powerhouse club. We are simply a community club that gathers once a week to practice judo seriously.
しかし、その頃から私たちはSNSを通じて活動を発信し始めていた。
Around that time, we had started sharing our activities through social media.
柔道の魅力、仲間との絆、そして国際交流への挑戦。
The appeal of judo, the bonds of friendship, and our commitment to international exchange.
その想いが海を越え、ポーランドまで届いていたのである。
Those messages had crossed oceans and reached Poland.

| 2023年7月初めての稽古＠横浜国立大学柔道部 |
以来、彼らは2024年、2025年と毎年横浜を訪れてくれている。
Since then, they have returned to Yokohama every year in 2024 and 2025.
そして今年2月には強化選手を連れて来日し、今回の稽古には総勢45名が参加してくれた。
This year, they also visited in February with elite athletes, and this time a total of 45 members joined our practice.
小学生12名、中高生27名、指導者6名。
The group consisted of 12 elementary school students, 27 junior and senior high school students, and 6 coaches.
若い柔道家たちのエネルギーで道場は活気に満ちていた。
The dojo was filled with the energy and enthusiasm of young judoka.
言葉は十分に通じなくても、柔道着を着て組み合えばすぐに友達になれる。
Even when language is limited, once we put on our judogi and train together, we quickly become friends.
それが柔道の持つ素晴らしい力だと思う。
I believe that is one of the greatest powers of judo.
稽古後には背負投の技術セミナーも開催した。
After practice, I conducted a technical seminar on Seoi Nage.
私が長年研究してきた技術や考え方を紹介しながら指導を行った。
I shared techniques and concepts that I have studied and refined over many years.
何か一つでも新しい発見を持ち帰ってくれたら嬉しい。
I hope each participant returned home with at least one new idea or skill.

きっとまた来年も再会できるだろう。
I am sure we will meet again next year.
そしていつの日か、今度は私たちがポーランドを訪れ、現地で指導や交流ができるようになりたい。
And someday, I hope we can travel to Poland ourselves and contribute through coaching and exchange activities there.

| 2024年6月ポーランドチームとの合同稽古 |
私がクラブ代表となって6年が経った。
It has now been six years since I became the head of our club.
活動を始めた頃はコロナ禍の真っただ中だった。
When I began leading the club, we were in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.
参加者は10人程度。ソーシャルディスタンスを確保しながら稽古を続けていた。
Only around ten people attended practice, and we trained while maintaining social distancing.
あの頃は海外から柔道家が訪れる未来など想像もできなかった。
Back then, I could never have imagined judoka from overseas visiting our dojo.
しかし今では東南アジアから、ヨーロッパから、そして北欧からも柔道家が集まってくれる。
Today, judoka come to train with us from Southeast Asia, Europe, and even Northern Europe.
柔道がつないでくれた縁は、私たちの想像をはるかに超えて広がっている。
The connections created through judo have expanded far beyond anything we imagined.
柔道は勝敗を競う競技である。
Judo is certainly a sport where victory and defeat matter.
しかしそれだけではない。
But it is much more than that.
人と人を結び、国と国をつなぎ、人生を豊かにしてくれる力がある。
It connects people, bridges nations, and enriches lives.
これからも横浜から世界へ。
From Yokohama to the world.
そして世界から横浜へ。
And from the world to Yokohama.
柔道を通じて生まれる絆を、一つひとつ大切に育てていきたい。
I hope to continue nurturing every bond that is created through judo.
もっともっと柔道の輪を広げていこう。
Let us continue expanding the circle of judo even further.
