4月に、3年ぶりに聖地日本武道館での全日本選手権大会されました。
In April, for the first time in three years, the All Japan Championships were held
at the sacred Nippon Budokan.
故斎藤仁先生の次男、斉藤立選手が見事に優勝し感動の涙で終わりました。
Tatsuru Saito, the second son of the late Mr. Hitoshi Saito, won the championship,
which ended in tears of joy.
そして、出場選手の素晴らしい戦いを友人達と一緒に観戦し、素晴らしい一日を
過ごす事が出来ました。
I was also able to spend a wonderful day with my friends watching the wonderful
battles of the contestants.
今年は、先日ご紹介した素敵なフランス人女子柔道家も我らと一緒に観戦。
This year, a lovely French female JUDOKA, whom I introduced to you the other day,
also watched the tournament with us.
終日、柔道の環境のフランスと日本の違いについてお話しました。
We spent the whole day talking about the differences between France and Japan
in terms of the judo environment.
＜フランス柔道と日本柔道の違い＞
＜The differences between French judo and Japanese judo are as follows.＞
①フランスでは対戦相手の組合せは前日の夜か当日の朝決める。
In France, the pairings of opponents are decided the night before
or the morning of the day of the match.,
＊対戦相手の対策を練る時間を与えない。
＊leaving no time to plan countermeasures.
②フランスでは公式な試合でも「正面に礼」はしない。
In France, “Rei to the front” is not performed even in official matches.
＊正面への礼は日本だけなのでしょうか？時間のあるとき調べてみたいです。
＊Is this only in Japan? I would like to find out when I have time.
③フランスには日本と比べ、女子の柔道指導者が多い。
There are more female judo instructors in France than in Japan.
＊指導者表彰を見て、「男性の指導者しかいない」と驚いていました。
＊She said “I was surprised to see the instructor awards and was surprised
to see that there are only male instructors.”
④フランスは大学卒業後も柔道を続ける女子が多い。
In France, there are many girls who continue judo after graduating from university.
＊「日本には素敵な選手がたくさんいるのに大学卒業で引退してしまう」
と嘆いてました。
＊”There are many wonderful athletes in Japan, but they retire after graduating
from university," she lamented.
⑤フランスは女子が結婚後も仕事し、柔道が出来る環境である。
France is an environment where women can work after marriage and continue judo.
＊例え続けたとしても結婚したら辞めてしまう女子選手が多いい。
＊Even if they continue to play judo, many of them quit after marriage.
などなど、柔道を通じてフランスと日本がそんなに違うのか！という点を
全日本選手権の観戦を通じて教えて頂く事が出来ました。
I wondered if France and Japan were so different in terms of judo.
I was able to learn about the differences between France and Japan through judo
by watching the All Japan Championships.
当日に対戦相手を決める事そして女子選手の環境の違い等、正直初めて知り
驚きの連続でした。
To be honest, it was the first time for me to learn about the different environment
for female players and to decide who to play against on the day of the competition.
また一つ『学びの扉』が開きました。
Another "door of learning" was opened for me.
やっぱり、国際交流は良いですね。
After all, international exchange is good.
「柔道人口減少」は日本柔道の課題ですね。
The "decrease in the judo population" is an issue for Japanese judo.
もしかしたらこんな違いに大切なヒントがたくさんあるのではないでしょうか？
Perhaps there are many important hints in such differences?
