英語字幕付動画を配信し、一年半。

世界の柔道愛好家のため！と毎回毎回気合を入れて毎週動画を配信中です。
For Judo lovers all over the world! We have been delivering weekly videos with great enthusiasm every time.
▶︎ぶち当たった壁 The wall I hit
短い日本語文から英語、その英語から日本語へと何回かの往復翻訳でおおよそ問題ない
文章が出来上がります。
I was able to create a roughly OK sentence by translating a short Japanese sentence to English, and then from English to Japanese, and back again several times.
と、安心しつつアプリ翻訳を進めると「足を払う＝pay the foot」と翻訳され？？
I was relieved to see that the application translated the sentence as "pay the foot," but then I was asked if the sentence was translated as "pay the foot.
「payはお金を払うのpayだよなぁ？」と自分の語彙不足の感も否めないものの、流石に
これは違うなぁ〜と頭を悩ましました。
I was relieved to see that the app translated the sentence as "pay the foot" and I was like, "pay is to pay money, right?
辞書、その他Web、柔道の英語版テキストなどで調べ、ようやく「sweep」という言葉に
たどり着きました。
I looked up the word "sweep" in dictionaries, on the web, and in English texts on judo, and finally arrived at the word "sweep".
「足を払う＝sweep the leg 」かぁ〜と適切であろう翻訳にたどり着くまで小一時間。
I spent an hour trying to come up with a translation that would be appropriate.
アプリでできる！と簡単に考え過ぎ、ぶち当たった大きな壁でした。
I thought it was too easy and got stumped.
▶︎アプリは色々ある
There are many apps out there.
初めの頃は、翻訳アプリはGoogle翻訳と一つのアプリを利用して翻訳
In the beginning, I used Google Translate only for translation.
もう少し精度良く翻訳してもらえないものかと頭を悩ませていると。
I was racking my brains to see if I could get it to translate with a little more accuracy.
「翻訳はDeep-Lがなかなか精度が高くて良い！」と言う情報をゲット。
I got the information that "Deep-L is quite accurate and good for translation!"
早速、利用してみるととっても良い翻訳精度を体感。
I immediately tried it and experienced very good translation accuracy.
「ん！これは良いぞ！」という事で最近はめっきりDeep-Lを活用し翻訳を進めています。
"Hmm! This is good! So recently I have been using Deep-L for translation.
▶︎多言語対応 Multilingual support
毎週の配信の為に、週末の稽古後に編集会議を実施しています。
We have an editorial meeting after the weekend practice for weekly delivery.
「英語だけじゃなくフランス語とか中国語とかも一緒に載せませんか？」というアイディアが！
We had an idea, "Why don't we publish not only in English but also in French, Chinese, etc.? was the idea!
実現するためには？と少し調べてみるとYouTubeからの機能紹介動画が多言語対応となっている点に着目。
How can we make it happen? We did a little research and found that YouTube's videos introducing functions were available in multiple languages.
「これだ！この機能をなんとか使いこなそう！」と早速試験的に導入。
I thought, "This is it! Let's use this feature somehow! and immediately introduced it on a trial basis.
YouTubeにある字幕機能を利用させていただき、多言語対応を進めています。
We are using the subtitle function on YouTube to support multiple languages.
日本語と英語は自動翻訳ではなく自作で翻訳。
Japanese and English are not automatically translated, but we create our own translations.
他の言語は英語から自動翻訳頂く様にしています。
Other languages are automatically translated from English.
不十分かもしれないけど「走りながら直して行けば良い！」という感じで進めてます。
We may not be able to do it well enough, but we are trying to fix it as we go along.
▶︎改善は続く Improvement continues
字幕は本当に難しいです。
Subtitles are really difficult.
しかし、世界中にいる柔道の愛好家の皆様にしっかりとお伝えしたい一心で対応をして
います。
However, we are working on it with the sole intention of conveying the message to judo lovers all over the world.
まだまだ改善は続きます。
Improvement is still continuing.
JudoYokohamaのコミュニティのアンケートもその改善に向けた活動の一つです。
The survey to the JudoYokohama channel community is one of the activities we are doing to improve it.
