6月29日は、オーストリアから高校生が武者修行に我ら横浜土曜柔道会に来てくれました。On June 29, high school students from Austria came to our Yokohama Saturday Judo Club for martial arts training.
この国際交流は、そもそも3年前にクラブメンバーの一人が始めたものでした。
This international exchange originally began three years ago with one of our club members.
2022年の一人から始まり、2023年は二人と増え、今年2024年はなんと5人もオーストリアから遠征し、週末の稽古に参加し一緒に汗を流してくれました。
Starting with one student in 2022 and increasing to two in 2023, this year, 2024, we had as many as five students travel from Austria to join our weekend training and practice alongside us.
これは、熱意のある親の支援と子供たちのやる気があってこそ実現したものだと痛感する事が出来ましました。
This realization was only possible thanks to the dedicated support of their enthusiastic parents and the students' own motivation.
次回はスイスから多数のメンバーが稽古に参加したいというご要望を頂き、受け入れます。
Next time, we have received requests from several members from Switzerland who wish to participate in our training, and we will be welcoming them.
母校 埼玉大学の現役生やOBにも多数参加してもらい、一緒に汗を流し日本柔道の真髄をしっかりと伝え、国際交流を進めたいと考えています。
We plan to have many current students and alumni from our alma mater, Saitama University, join us in practice, share the essence of Japanese judo, and further international exchange.
交流を通じての成長 Growth Through Exchange
オーストリアから来た高校生たちは、稽古を通じて日本の柔道の技術や精神を学ぶことができたと思います。
I believe the high school students from Austria were able to learn the techniques and spirit of Japanese judo through our training sessions.
彼らの真剣な姿勢や努力を見ると、こちらも刺激を受け、一層の努力をしようという気持ちになります。
Watching their serious attitude and effort inspires us to work even harder.
また、彼らとの交流を通じて、お互いに文化や考え方の違いを理解し合い、学び合い、尊重することの大切さを再確認する事ができたと思います。
Additionally, through our interactions with them, I feel we were able to reconfirm the importance of understanding, learning from, and respecting each other’s cultural and philosophical differences.
親の支援と子供たちのやる気 Support from Parents and Students' Motivation
今回の国際交流が成功した背景には、熱心な親の支援と、子供たちの強い意欲があったと痛感しました。
I realized that the success of this international exchange was backed by the enthusiastic support of the parents and the strong will of the students.
親たちは子供たちの成長をサポートし、遠く離れた日本への遠征を後押ししてくれたのです。
The parents supported their children's growth and encouraged their journey to distant Japan.
そして、子供たち自身も、異国の地で柔道を学びたいという強い意欲を持ち、自らの成長を求めて挑戦したのだと思います。
And the students themselves, with a strong desire to learn judo in a foreign land, challenged themselves in their quest for personal growth.
今後の展望 Future Prospects
これらの取り組みを通じ、国際交流の重要性とその効果を実感しました。
Through these initiatives, I have realized the importance and impact of international exchange.
今後もさらに多くの国から柔道を学びに来る子供たちを受け入れ、彼らとの交流を益々深めていきたいと考えています。
In the future, we hope to welcome even more children from various countries who wish to learn judo, and to deepen our exchanges with them.
また、日本柔道の魅力を世界に広めるために、引き続き努力を続けていきます。
We will continue our efforts to spread the appeal of Japanese judo worldwide.
今後も、多くの子供たちが柔道を通じて成長し、国際的な友情を育む機会を提供していくことを目指します。
Our goal is to continue providing opportunities for many children to grow through judo and to foster international friendships.
オーストリア、スイス、そして他の国々からの参加者を温かく迎え入れ、共に学び、共に成長していきましょう。
We look forward to warmly welcoming participants from Austria, Switzerland, and other countries, learning and growing together.
