アメリカ・シアトル初遠征！ワシントン柔道アカデミーでの素晴らしい交流について First U.S. Expedition to Seattle! Wonderful Exchange at Washington Judo Academy

皆さん、こんにちは！今回は、私たちの初めて海外遠征となった米国シアトル遠征についてお伝えします。

Hello everyone! In this post, I'd like to share our exciting experience from our first overseas expedition to Seattle, USA.

7月27日から8月4日まで、私たちはNPO法人ワシントン柔道アカデミー（以下WJA）にお招き頂き、幼児から一般の方々まで幅広い年代の柔道愛好家の皆様にワークショップを開催させて頂く事が出来ました。

From July 27th to August 4th, we had the honor of being invited by the non-profit organization, Washington Judo Academy (WJA), to conduct judo workshops for a diverse range of participants, from children to adults.

この素晴らしい交流のきっかけは、米国で私たちのYouTubeチャンネルJudoYokohamaを毎週ご覧頂いていたWJAコーチが今年の6月に横浜土曜柔道会の練習を視察頂いた事から始まりました。

The foundation for this remarkable exchange was laid when a coach from WJA had been following our YouTube channel, JudoYokohama, based in Yokohama, Japan. This coach visited our training session at Yokohama Saturday Judo Club in June. 

視察後、WJAから正式にオファーをいただき、夢の遠征が実現しました。

Following this observation, we were officially offered the opportunity, and our dream expedition became a reality.

シアトルに到着した初日から、私たちは練習に参加し、一週間ぶっ通しで柔道の指導に励みました。

Upon our arrival in Seattle, we immediately immersed ourselves in training and dedicated an entire week to judo instruction. 

週末のオープンマットや一般向けの練習には、ワシントン地域の柔道愛好者たちが熱心に参加してくれました。武道館道場、ワシントン大学柔道クラブ、シアトル柔道道場の皆さんとの交流は、私たちにとって忘れられない思い出となりました。

We were particularly thrilled to see enthusiastic participation from local judo enthusiasts in the weekend open mat sessions and general practice. Our interactions with members from dojos such as the Budokan Judo Dojo, Washington University Judo Club, and Seattle Judo Dojo created unforgettable memories that will forever remain with us.

「継続は力」という合言葉のもと、横浜から毎週発信しているYouTubeチャンネルのおかげで、私たちは素晴らしい出会いを果たすことが出来たのです。

Thanks to the mantra "Continuity is Strength," which guides our YouTube channel's weekly broadcasts from Yokohama, we were able to forge wonderful connections and encounters. 

全てが「初めての活動」であり、毎日が「感動」の連続。

Each day was filled with a sense of "first-time activities" and an overwhelming feeling of "inspiration."

この一週間を通じ、私たちは「一期一会」の大切さを改めて実感する事が出来、「学びの扉」がまた一つ開いたのです。

Throughout this week-long journey, we were reminded of the significance of "ichi-go ichi-e" – the concept of valuing each encounter as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This experience also opened another door of learning for us.

そして、WJAも私たちと同様にNPO法人。共通の理念や価値観を持つ仲間として、これからも交流を深めていきたいと考えています。

Just like us, WJA operates as a non-profit organization, sharing common principles and values. We aspire to further deepen our ties and exchanges with them in the future.

私たちの目指す目標は、「世界中に柔道の絆を奏でるJUDO YOKOHAMA」です。柔道を通じて友情や協力の絆を築き、世界中に広げていくことが私たちの使命です。今後も、さまざまな国や地域で柔道を通じ素晴らしい交流を広げていきたいと思います。

Our ultimate goal is to "weave the bonds of judo worldwide through JUDO YOKOHAMA." It is our mission to foster friendship and cooperation across the globe through the medium of judo. We look forward to expanding these enriching exchanges across different countries and regions in the times ahead.

この素晴らしい体験を通じて、私たちは「柔道の力と魅力を再確認する事」ができました。

This incredible journey has reaffirmed our belief in the strength and allure of judo.
