On April 2 (Sat.) - 3 (Sun.), the Selected Weight Classification Championships were held in Fukuoka, Japan.

新井選手は、大会直前に土曜柔道会に挨拶へ来て頂けました。

試合結果は阿部選手の一本背負投で一本を取られ敗退。
The result of the match was that Abe's Ippon SeoiNage took Ippon and he lost the match.
しかし、しっかり組んで技をかける事に徹底し、正々堂々と晴れの舞台で戦う姿はとっても誇らしく感動を覚えた次第です。
However, I was very proud and impressed by the way he fought on the stage in a fair and square manner, making sure to work together and apply their techniques.
